ABOUT THIS ADAPTATION The BASIC code for “The Great Commission Number Game” (a.k.a., “The Church Growth Game”) was originally published in J. Conrod, Computer Bible Games (Accent Publications, 1984). The present adaptation is based on the code for the TRS-80 Color Computer, with minor adaptations made for gameplay and design. This unofficial, non-commercial HTML browser-based version — v1.3 — is by Andrew Perrin, built with artificial intelligence coding assistance. Past and present versions of the game were adapted in good faith under fair use guidelines for educational, personal, and research purposes. Original BASIC code used with permission by Philip Conrod. All original rights remain with their respective owners.
HOW TO PLAY
> GOAL
  • Guess the exact number of members in a growing church
  • Find the right number in as few guesses as possible
> GAMEPLAY
  • Choose a difficulty from 1 (easy) to 10 (hard) — higher difficulty means the church grows faster
  • Not every member shown fills a unique seat, so the pews never show the full true count — just an impression of it
  • Each guess is marked too many or too few
  • Every wrong guess adds more members before your next guess — the target keeps climbing, so don't guess too low and stay there
  • You have a limited number of guesses — run out, and the round ends
